Assets on the map

The Map view of the asset register - one pin per building, showing what the assets inside it are worth and what condition they are in.

The Map view shows the asset register on the same map the rest of AssetLab uses. Each building you have placed draws as one pin, and the pin reports what the assets inside it add up to. It answers the question a list can't: where is the money, and where is it wearing out?

Reading a pin

A pin carries three things at a glance:

Pins are not clustered. A cluster could only tell you how many buildings it swallowed, which would hide the one thing the map is for. Where pins overlap, the largest is drawn underneath so the smaller ones stay clickable.

The panel

Click a pin for the full rollup of that building:

If some assets in the building carry no purchase cost, a line says how many. They are still counted in the asset total and the condition mix; they simply contribute nothing to the value and FCI figures.

Filters apply

Site, building, location, classification, status and text search narrow the map exactly as they narrow the list, and the map draws the whole filtered set rather than the page you are on. Every number on a pin is calculated from the assets that survive your filters - so filtering to HVAC gives you HVAC replacement value per building, and a building with no HVAC drops off the map entirely.

The basemap switcher, aerial imagery and 3D buildings all work here, the same as on the buildings map and the infrastructure map.

What is not shown

A line above the map counts the assets left out. An asset is not counted when it belongs to no building, or to a building that has no map position yet. Both are fixed the same way - give the building coordinates, or move the asset into one that has them - and nothing about the asset itself needs to change.
